Overview
A Filer is the legal entity responsible for filing tax forms with tax authorities on behalf of your organization. Filer data includes key legal entity details such as the entity name, address, tax identification numbers, that go on most tax forms.
Each tenant may have multiple Filers, with one designated as the default to associate account owners to. Most organizations create a single Filer per legal entity that facilitates reportable activity.
Required Fields for Form Generation
A Filer can be created with only a name, but additional fields are required to generate specific form types. See Filer Data Model for the full breakdown.
